Starring Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba and Terrence Howard, the plot of this story is fairly simple as if focuses on a man who has an surgical operation of a new heart transplant but instead of fallen asleep during the operation, he is still awake yet paralyzed and know what is going on throughout the operation.
Broken down, whilst Clay goes through the operation he slowly finds out 'secrets' about his new wife and friend, Sam and Jake, how the operation was all a set up. Eventhough he realise something is going wrong he doesn't have the strength to stop the operation but watch himself dying through tricks and pain.
The story is played in an unique and clever way where the puzzle is solved towards the end of the film and answers that are unexpected and you wouldn't have guessed even though there were hints throughout the film, yet not subltle. The story follows fairly quickly and hits straight to the aim at the start of Clay having heart condition problems and needed a new heart transplant. Each scenes were moving snappily from one to the other rather than dragging on before getting into the main point of the film.
Like mention above, the storyline is fairly simple and easy to catch on and the further you watch the film it becomes much clearer and easier to understand what is going on and why the story is called Awake and what is the point of it. Overall, the film brings out unexpected plot and leaves you in a surprise split second and a thought of "OHH....".
